Monica has had a love for health and fitness since she was a child playing soccer, softball and basketball in grades K-12 and excelling in soccer and playing through college and the Junior Olympics. Monica also has a love for dance and took ballet, jazz, tap as a kid and found that love again dancing the Rhumba and Jive in two local St. Louis Dancing in the Stars events in 2010 and 2011.

She was introduced to weight lifting at 15 and has not left the gym since. She studied sports medicine and physical therapy at University of Missouri Columbia and got her first two certifications with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America in 1997. Monica served as the Wellness Director for Essence Healthcare for a year where she developed programs to get the senior population moving and working towards their wellness goals.

Monica has been teaching Extreme Fitness classes and boxing for 4 years but focusing the majority of her 14 year career in body transformation and consulting for businesses, corporations and individuals to get their health and nutrition in order. Monica also works in television and radio for Fox 2 and KMOX. She hosts a national radio talk show on the weekends focusing on every aspect of health and wellness in both eastern and western culture medicine. She contributes health and fitness reports for Fox 2 and Fox News Channel and appears daily as Fox 2′s Morning Traffic Reporter.

On a personal level she is deeply involved in charitable organazations with Independence Center, Go Red For Women, Ponybird Home in Mapaville, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, the Pellegrine Society and Family Resource Center just to name a few. Monica is single, has three beautiful dogs; two of which are the same breed: Shiba Inu’s and the other a Lab/Hound mix that she adores. She credits her mother (who is one of her best friends) with her drive and passion for health and fitness. Her father passed away in 1995 from bladder cancer and she has made it her lifelong goal to do all she can to help rid this world of that horrible disease. She has two older brothers and an older sister.

Monica Adams is a certified personal trainer and hosts a health and fitness show Sunday afternoons on KMOX Radio. She is also the traffic reporter for FOX 2 News in the Morning. Monica previously worked at WIL-FM radio, where she was the news director and morning show co-host. Previous to WIL, Monica was the morning show host for KDJR/KHAD radio in DeSoto, Missouri and the news director, morning show co-host, and sports reporter for KJCF radio in Festus, Missouri.

During her 13-year career in radio, Monica had the opportunity to interview Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. She has also done stories on Katie Couric (her idol), Reba McEntire, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Brett and Bobby Hull. Monica has covered the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams and Blues, as well as high school football and baseball in Jefferson County.

Monica is a St. Louis native who enjoys entertaining her family and friends and doing charitable work for the American Cancer Society, Kilo Diabetes Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Ponybird Home in Mapaville and Desoto, American Heart Association and The Peregrine Society. She enjoys dancing, singing, fitness and has a huge heart for her dogs and other animals.
